How do I prepare for my first appointment?

If you are a new patient to St. Clair Medical Group Cardiology, we ask that you provide the office with your previous health records prior to your appointment date. To transfer your records, please complete the Medical Record Transfer Form and send it to your current primary care provider or specialist. Additionally, we ask that you please print and complete all of the "New Patient Forms" located on the Forms Page. Once the forms are complete, either fax, mail, or bring the completed forms to your appointment. If for some reason you are unable to do this prior to your appointment, please arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete the forms and allow our staff to enter them into your electronic health record.

What should I do if I need to cancel and / or reschedule my appointment?

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, we request that you provide the practice with 24 hour notice, so that we may offer that appointment time to another. You may cancel / reschedule your appointment by calling our office at 412-942-7900 or 412-942-7780.

What is the office's late / cancellation policy 

Out of consideration to our other patients, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, there may be a delay in your visit, or you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. If you cannot make your appointment, we request 24 hours notice to offer that appointment time to another patient. St. Clair Medical Group Cardiology thanks you in advance for your consideration.

What should I do if I need care after hours?

St. Clair Medical Group Cardiology is open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For non-emergency care when our office is closed, we recommend calling 412-942-7900 or 412-942-7780 and our telephone answering service will contact the physician on-call to address your needs. If this is a medical emergency, please dial 9-1-1 or go to the closest emergency room.

How do I get a prescription medication refilled?

Please contact your pharmacy with all prescription medication refill requests.

What if I need a referral to another provider or service?

If you require a referral to see another specialist or to have testing, our office will obtain the necessary insurance authorization. When possible, please notify our office at least 5 days in advance to allow time to process the paperwork. We ask that you please do not schedule your appointment before our office contacts you with the authorization. If the authorization is not obtained before the appointment, it may mean that you could be financially responsible.

Where can I receive lab and imaging services?
