How do I prepare for my first appointment?

For your first appointment with SCMG Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, please arrive 10-15 minutes early.  Remember to bring your I.D. and insurance cards.

What should I do if I need to cancel and / or reschedule my appointment?

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, we request that you provide the practice with a 24 hour notice, so that we may offer that appointment time to another patient. You can cancel / reschedule your appointment by calling our office at (412) 942-5620 or (412) 232-5549.

What should I do if I need care after hours?

SCMG Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For non-emergent care when our office is closed, please call our office number to speak with our on- call physician. For non-emergency care when our office is closed, we recommend St. Clair Urgent Care, which is located at the St. Clair Hospital Outpatient Center - Village Square, 2000 Oxford Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102 and is open 7 days a week, 9:000 AM - 9:00 PM. In the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

What is the office's late / cancellation policy 

Out of consideration to our other patients, if you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your appointment, there may be a delay in your visit, or you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. If you cannot make your appointment, we request 24 hours notice to offer that appointment time to another. SCMG Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine thanks you in advance for your consideration.

How do I get a prescription medication refilled?

Please contact your pharmacy with all prescription medication refill requests.

What if I need a referral to another provider or service?

If you require a referral to see a specialist or to have advanced diagnostic testing, our office will help you obtain the necessary insurance authorization. When possible, please notify our office at least 7 days in advance to allow time to process the paperwork. We ask that you please do not schedule your appointment before our office contacts you with the authorization. If the authorization is not obtained before the appointment, it may mean that you could be financially responsible.

Where can I receive lab and imaging services?

If you require diagnostic testing, please visit St. Clair 's Dunlap Family, Village Square and Peters Township Outpatient centers. Click here to learn more. As always, please ensure that your insurance plan will cover the site that you choose for your testing.
